1941 DKW NZ500

1941 DKW NZ500 in Deutsche Wehrmacht.

The NZ 500 model was equipped with a 489cc engine, with a capacity of 18.5 hp at 4200 rpm.

It was distinguished not only by an improved chassis and powertrain, but also by the candle rear suspension, which could be adjusted in rigidity depending on whether the vehicle was used with a sidecar or in a solo version.

The basis of the frame was a powerful welded front envelope, to which two rear cross members were attached. The central electrical switch was placed on the gas tank, which was significantly larger than in previous models. The front fork got welded stays during the modernization process.

Compared to other motorcycles of the series, the NZ 500 model was much less distributed. Most of these motorcycles were "destined to serve" in the Wehrmacht troops, where they were used in cavalry, military police and SS units.
